I am Filipino. I grew up as an adopted son to a woman when I was left by my biological mother to her. My adopted mother is poor and so I have to try to make a living. At 16 I met this man who took me in, clothed me, fed me and sent me to school. He was a catholic priest and a military chaplain for the U.S. Airforce. I became a Nurse in 1994 and I promised my adopted Dad that I’d take care of him. I never got to move to the U.S. but I managed to get a Job in the U.K. where I now live with my family of 1 son 2 daughters. I visited my adopted father in 2004 with my then 2 children, and I nursed him to health in 2006 when he had a stroke. I love my Dad so much, just as all of us would think that our Dads are the best in the world. In 2005, I named my youngest daughter after him. He moved out of his house and entered into a graduated facility in Southern Pines N.C. Last June 2011 was the last time I spoke to Dad because he called me after being hospitalized for 6 months. I asked him if he would move in with me since I couldnt get to move to the U.S. and so we decided to try find a bigger house for all of us. This 28th of November 2011, I received a letter from a fiduciary that my Father had passed away last October 31st. He had Parkinsons, but succumb to Pneumonia secondary to Urinary tract infection. Its been a month and I had no idea about this. What anguished me are the questions of Why’s and Ifs. Why did I not go to him straight after he recovered from his last illness?. Did he have a hard time while living on his own? He always tells me he is alright when we talked on the phone and that he is well taken care of. I would have always wanted to take care of him more than I take care of the patients I have in the hospital. And here, now I missed that chance because I was too busy making a living. Even if I get answers to my questions, it will not bring back time. Right now, I am devastated and I do not know how or what to think. People around him during his last days didnt have an idea how to contact me. Wether Dad didnt get the chance to tell them or there were too many processes that they have to get thru to get to his contact details. What puzzles me is the fact that if Dad informed the facility that I do exist, why couldnt they have contacted me when he was unwell. But all these questions will remain with me un-answered and will haunt me for the rest of my life. I contacted the church where they officiated his funeral and the secretary to the monsignor told me that Dad passed away peacefully. The secretary of the estate lawyer told me the same. But no one can tell me how Dad was during his last days. I guess it wouldnt matter and they are all trying to appease my pain. I see all your stories, and I am afraid that the pain will never go away. I am afraid to get back to work, that each time I see an elderly person in my line of work, it will tear me apart inside. I never got the chance to demonstrate to my Dad how much I wanted to take care of him. I am reconciling my thoughts to myself, but it will never get resolved until Dad will tell me himself. At night I close my eyes so hard and I try to program myself so I see Dad in my dreams and we will have a conversation. During the day I stare up the heavens and hope I would see his face. I tried so hard to program my brain to create the illusion that he would be there standing and waving at me. But the truth is, he is gone and I will never physically see or hear his encouraging voice ever. I do not know if I will ever heal.

 

DAD BERNIE...I LOVE YOU AND I MISS YOU SO MUCH...YOU WILL BE IN MY HEART AND IN MY MIND FOR AS LONG AS I LIVE. I WILL SEE YOU AGAIN...SOON

...Nurses are modern day slaves!!! and that makes me one. There is no quantitative measurement to how we feel and when we are being treated like a piece of shit, it doesnt matter what part of the world we are in, we are going to feel like shit.  We should not worry, I feel this misery is universal. Nursing as we all describe it,should be unconditional...like a mothers love to her child...If you choose nursing to selflessly care, then by all means do it to your love ones, then we might not expect anything in return. even if we are being shouted upon, spit on, sweared upon, then we may still dedicate our whole hearted service because we love the person we are caring for...but dont be naive and overacting to insist that we are all doing this out of love to care...because we are doing this for a living then it becomes a chore and should not be called nursing but payed labor. it must be subject to union laws, workers rights and no more of this hero stuff. We are a fully educated and scientifically implemented labor force doing the jobs of other people who do not have the knowledge and guts to care and nurse for their own family. That is why, if you are not compensated  properly then you might as well be called a Modern day Slave!!! Well, we do have the freedom to get out of the profession, but if we all hope for that pot of gold in the end of the rainbow, then we have to become slaves to our own desires, thru which we peddle ourselves to the highest bidder. And if in business... the customer must always be right, then by all means, feel free to abuse the Nurses. (cant be bothered to create an account)

People are wondering why riots are spreading throughout the english cities. It does not need too much analysis. I will tell you the Root cause analysis  of this atrocity. (as the english are so proud of calling this process and declare "well according to research")...It does not take a genius to research the reason. All you need is a little common sense. Look at my analogy. I may not be a Phd or a masters of any field, but if theres one thing I have mastered is to get thru 40 years of hard life rising from the poorest slums of the Philippines into the largest health institution of England. From only having to have one meal a day to dieting because I have ate too much. From sleeping in the streets to owning at least 8 properties. It may not be much, but I have worked hard...sacrifice...planned...persist...and eventually gained.

Lets start from the Root and cause. I grew up as an orphan, walked the dark streets, no parents to guide me. But was able to find decent foster people that taught me righteousness. I grew up around people who are bored of life and took substances which they offered me. All through out I never even tried and I thought it would never give me any advantage. To make it short, these people are either now in jail or dead...now I thought, well, thats not bad that I resisted then, otherwise I would have ended up dead myself. So at that age of 11, I realized, if I can make sense of this world, then why do the young generation cannot do it??? .....then maybe we have to understand, that apart from our own capability to choose and decide, our society is also influenced by our surroundings.

ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS OF RIOTS.

1.)QUESTION: who are the rioters?

answer: children who are uneducated, undisciplined, and mostly from the lower income group of society.

2.) QUESTION: Why are they doing this?

Answer: Apart from the fact that they have no RESPECT of the authorities, mainly THE POLICE (who otherwise have no powers to DISCIPLINE, whatsoever) They have gained the momentum to find an excuse to loot, because they are blaming the society for their incapacity to obtain material and technological things that are rapidly making this society a very competitive environment. They simply cannot cope with the rapid development, coupled by their parents inability to provide them these material desires, because of lack of finances. Using the excuse, that if there is no future for the possibility of an education or a job, then they create havoc in society. They are frustrated that they cannot compete with the demands of our society for efficient competent workforce. They do not or have not been taught that "IF YOU WANT SOMETHING, YOU HAVE TO WORK HARD FOR IT"....they have not been taught, that if you envy other people, you cannot take things away from them, but you have to work get what you want. Meaning, they have not been taught discipline in school. DO NOT DISCHARGE MY THEORY, BECAUSE YOU MAY HAVE SEEN THESE COMMENTS ON THE TELEVISION FROM KIDS  AS YOUNG AS 14 AND EVEN PEOPLE IN THEIR 20'S who, to be honest, did seem like an un-employed and un-educated individual himself. DO NOT BE OFFENDED BY MY PRE-JUDGEMENT ON A SPECIFIC GROUP, because I am quoting these from my observations based on what I experienced and saw in this society. I AM AN IMMIGRANT AND NON OF THESE KINDS OF UNRULY UNDISCIPLINED ACTIVITIES HAPPENS IN MY NATIVE COUNTRY, BECAUSE WE DISCIPLINE OUR CHILDREN, REMEMBER THE WORD....DISCIPLINE...NOT ABUSE....THAT IS WHY THIS IS A VERY SENSITIVE ISSUE, BECAUSE NOT ALL INDIVIDUALS CAN DISTINGUISH BETWEEN BOTH AND BE ABLE TO CONTINUOUSLY GUIDE THEIR CHILDREN.

AND THIS HERE NOW IS A GOVERNMENTS SHORTCOMING. A LONG OVERLOOKED SHORTCOMING. AND NOW A HUGE PROBLEM.

2.) Question: how can a young kid have the heart to do this, why dont they have any RESPECT for authorities? (I can use the word authorities, right? otherwise, the word would have no meaning. Yes we have to have a degree of RESPECT FOR AUTHORITIES)

answer: because he is misguided or unguided by parents who are not around or either uneducated or misguided themselves.

3.) question: how did the rioters gain the momentum to ruin their cities?

answer: because they were not stopped at the start

4.) question: why were they not stopped

answer: because the police have no courage or no right to stop them. Why? because their politicians are weak and have not formulated the proper approach to disciplining a society not until they see it themselves. because, remember, these politicians are rich kids who never saw the reality of life outside that they never realized that human rights and discipline should be balanced otherwise abuse will come from both ends. If theres not human rights, abuse from authority will progress, and vice versa, if there is no discipline abuse from the public will arise.

4.) question: how do we stop this nonsense violence and rampant looting?

answer: first, implement discipline temporarily to the rioters by stopping them on their track, if its necessary to provide an example then it has to be done. Remember, a dog will growl first before it bites...therefore, you have to stop it before it happens, if it bites, it has to be put down otherwise you will be either injured or dead yourself. NEXT: Implement discipline into the curriculums of the school system. The education system of england is so focused on scientific information that they do not elaborate on the subjects of discipline, wisdom, self responsibility, sacrifice and compromise all of which are virtues of the older generation. But not being taught to the new generation. That is why the rioters as you see are young impatient and bored children who are either products of a non educated group or are children of the products of non educated group that I previously categorized  as a non-disciplined generation.

This violence will not stop in one go, it will take another generation to re-train the minds of humans into inculcating in their families and their children that discipline and concern for other people are vital to living in a civilized society. It has to start within the family, being the BASIC UNITS OF SOCIETY, the parents should have time and education to teach the basic concepts of discipline to their children. This is where the poorer nations have better discipline for their children because not all parents have or able to go to work and at least one adult can supervise and teach their children proper manners. While in RICH AND DEVELOPED society, both parents need to work to pay for their bills and commodities, not including their whims and wants, thereby leaving the parenting to teachers who are not only overworked, but also do not have the time to teach manners and discipline but just wants to get done with their curriculum and get paid because they have a family to get home to themselves. Same is true for most public servants, nurses, police, firemen etc, etc. DISCIPLINE is DEAD. And that is why we are breeding an UNDISCIPLINED SOCIETY.

SOLUTION: TEACH THE PARENTS TO TEACH THEIR CHILDREN AT HOME FIRST, EDUCATE THE UN-EDUCATED PARENTS WHO ARE A PRODUCT OF AN ALREADY LOST GENERATION, THE VIRTUES OF DISCIPLINE, COURTESY, RESPECT CONCERN FOR OTHERS. (remember: parents as young as 16-20 are already a lost generation of an un-disciplined school leavers. and parents on their 30s-40s who are probably the parents of these days 12-18 year old rioters, are either a product of a non-disciplined education system or an overworked group.)

THE WORDS OF ONE OF ENGLANDS FAMOUS LEADERS; LORD ROBERT STEPHENSON SMITH BADENPOWELL...WE SHOULD ALL AT LEAST HAVE ONE OF THESE MORALS:

TRUSTWORTHY, LOYALTY, FRIENDLINESS, CONSIDERATION, COURAGE, RESOURCEFULL, INDUSTRIOUSNESS, DISCIPLINE, SELF-RELIANCE, AND BROTHERHOOD. YES WE HAVE TO BRING BACK SCOUTING INTO THE EDUCATION SYSTEM AND MAKE IT MANDATORY.

You may all know it, you probably thought of the same. Let me just remind you. I see, we see todays societys basic unit is crumbling and disintegrating. Values are forgotten, discipline not important and not implemented. Respect is not needed. Sacrifice is disregarded. Thats the truth. All of these virtues that the people of our past have maintained are slowly just becoming a history of our past. Why is it happening to us? Let me tell you. We are living in a world of rapid evolution. Human beings think that they have all the answers to every question. We no longer leave life to chances, and fate to life. We think that we can control the outcomes of everything

 People are struggling to keep up with development that they will do what it takes to keep up with their "joneses"  

We are a LOST generation and a DISINTEGRATING society
